With my novel, I hope to open your mind to possibilities and free you from the conventional sense of time. I wish to paint a picture, to give an impression of the sights, sounds and smells of 18th century England, at the same time capturing the beauty of Norton, the house that has been home to my family for the last fifteen years, and the house where my tragic hero, Sir William Keyt loved, lived and died. I wish to engage you in his story, and to make you laugh and cry in equal measure.

This was a stunningly good read. I now eagerly await the next book which I hope wont be too long in coming. I would thoroughly recommend it as it's a real page turner although not necessarily helpful if you need to put out the light and go to sleep!!

I got so absorbed in this book that I found it at times, impossible to put down. It is extremely well written and the characters easily pictured. I felt sympathy for some and frustration for others. The class system and inequality of women characters was eye opening. This would make an excellent TV series! The plot is enthralling. Well done to the author for this her first, and I hope not her last book.

Picked up a copy of Burnt Norton yesterday. Finished it today. Been in tears all day. A wonderful read, a tragic story. And it's true which makes it even more tragic. What a wonderful novel. A must read.

Talk about sad - this faction had me crying all day but it was compulsive reading. A brilliant way to spend my weekend in the sunshine I would recommend it to everyone. A brilliant way to spend my weekend in the sunshine I would recommend it to everyone.
